Why Costume and not cosplay?
Because we love to see you Original Characters, DnD persona’s as well. We believe all costume are worth participating nomatter if they are cosplay or original works.
Unleash your imagination, show off your craftsmanship, and bring your favorite characters or original designs to life at the RINCON Costume Competition! This year, we’re doing things differently—because it’s not just about the costumes, it’s about having fun, embracing your creativity, and celebrating the art of cosplay in all its forms.
What to Expect
This exciting competition features 5 Serious Categories:
🧵 Best Selfmade – Warlock Seamster
🎭 Best Original Character – Most Likely to Confuse the DM
🌿 Best on Theme – Probably a Mimic
🛠️ Most Creative Technique – Beware! Artificer at Work
📸 Best Pose/Photo – Most Likely to Be Mistaken for an NPC
But that’s not all! At every RINCON, we’ll unveil 5 Fun Categories unique to the event, keeping the competition fresh, exciting, and full of surprises.
How It Works
- Sign up at the booth of Coy Photographics during the convention. Let them capture your costume in all its glory with a professional photo.
- Each day, you can submit one entry. If the convention spans multiple days, you’re welcome to enter again—but if you win on one day, you won’t be eligible to win again that weekend.
- Judging will be conducted by a panel of experienced judges who ensure fair and thoughtful consideration for every entry.
Judging & Prizes
Our Knight Judging Team includes talented individuals from @Coy Photographics, Celina, Mirra, Epril, and Leonie (absent for spring 2025).
Every winner will receive a Golden Trophy to celebrate their creativity and hard work.
Competition Rules
- Open to All: Whether your costume is self-made, bought, or altered, all are welcome to participate. Trademarked and original characters (like your own D&D creations) are allowed.
- Family-Friendly: Costumes must provide sufficient coverage, avoid offensive themes, and be safe for a public setting.
- No Harmful Materials: Avoid substances like water, flames, fireworks, or anything that could harm others or the venue.
- Lighthearted and Fun: The competition is about celebrating costumes and having a great time.
